Captain Hecotr Leal caught and released this 28 and a half inch red this week on a Texas Trout Killer near Three Islands. Trout and redfish are abundant this spring and recent high tides have pushed lots of water into the bay. Trout have shown up in large numberes with the salty surge, and the Long Bar off South Padre and the Community Bar at Port Mansfield have produced numerous fish in the 24 to 28 inch category. Now is the time to get out and catch a big trout. Most are heavy with eggs, so treat them gently and carefully release the ones that aren't destined for "Lake Crisco."
